The Cascadian Kitchen is a seasonal food blog dedicated to publishing recipes and ideas that promote integration and sustainable use of the local food system.
This blog was started by Brian, formerly a professional cook, caterer, and kitchen manager. It began as an outlet for sharing stories about community gardening, experimenting with food, and discovering local ingredients. Lori joined a couple of years later as chief photographer and stylist. Brian now focuses on writing, research, and development.
The Cascadian Kitchen tacks and jibes with the seasons. The recipes and stories are inspired by the pioneering spirit of the Pacific Northwest–our longtime home–and the seasonal bounty of Southern California–our new home.
Lori and Brian are a happy couple living in sunny Los Angeles.
